Adding Users (Developers)

The user accounts of Administrators (or Users) of Cloud API Management are created within the Platform, with their roles managed within Cloud API Management.

The Users page of Cloud API Management allows Administrators (or Users) created within the Platform to add and manage developer accounts. Refer to the following steps to add Developers on the Users page.

Procedure

  1. Click Users on the Get Started page or navigate to Manage > Users. This opens the Manage your Users page.

  2. Click New User. This opens the New User pop-up window.

    a. In Username, enter the user's name required to log in to the application. This is the primary identifier for the Developer in the Cloud API Management (Control Center) dashboard.

    note

    You cannot change the Username cannot once you create the developer account, so we do not recommend including personal or private information for privacy reasons.

    b. In Email, enter the registered developer's email address.

    note

    Email is not considered a unique identifier, as multiple developers can have the same email address.

    c. In Display Name, enter the registered developer's display name.

    d. Provide information for the following fields:

    • Password
    • Confirm Password
    • First Name
    • Last Name
  3. Click Save and continue.

  4. In the Personal Information window, all fields are optional.

    note

    Once you close this window, these fields will no longer be editable in the Cloud API Management (Control Center) dashboard. You will only be able to edit these fields through the Developer Portal.

  5. Click Save and close or Save and continue.

    A new user has been created for the Developer Portal. You can view this username on the Manage your Users page.

important

About Account Authentication:

  • Your account locks after 5 incorrect login attempts.
  • Your Cloud API Management dashboard session expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, requiring you to log in again.
  • After 30 minutes of inactivity in the Cloud API Management dashboard, trying to perform any action on the Developer Portal redirects to the login page.
